Second Life® Individual Roleplay
Muinjij Island provides an opportunity for participants 18 years of age or older to enjoy the virtual Muinjij Island. Select a set of clothing and roleplay one of the village characters. Embark upon and enjoy your journey through various areas of the island moving from one area to another in a canoe. Look for the activity icon, visit niskamij and Muinji'j in the seven rest areas on the island.
Second Life® Group Roleplay
13 - 17 years old: Teachers who would like their students to participate in the story by visiting the virtual world island should send a request to virtualinfo@mun.ca. Pre-made avatar (characters in the DVD) are available for group use. This is an opportunity to learn about the Canadian First Nations Mi’kmaq people of Conne River. The island is secure as only those assigned the pre-made avatar can access this island.
18 - older: Visit Muinjij Island in Second Life. Select a set of clothing and roleplay one of the village characters.
For Those Less Than 13 Years of Age
The Muinji’j Becomes a Man story was video-taped in the virtual world of Second Life®. The video can be obtained by contacting dvdrequest@mun.ca There are a limited number of copies; therefore, we encourage those who will be using this DVD in their teaching/learning environments to obtain a copy.
