Background of the Story: Muinji'j Becomes a Man

The characters of the story include Muinji’j (a young boy) and his grandfather. Grandfather and Muinji'j start the long journey to bring goods to the trading post. Through various activities, grandfather teaches Muinji’j important life lessons. With the grandfather becoming ill part way through the journey, Muinji’j is left with the responsibility to take the goods to the trading post and make the best deal possible that will enable him to bring back items required for the Miawpukek community to survive.

A representation of the Conne River landscape of the 1800’s, dress, music and artifacts have been created using 3D virtual technology. You will be able to experience the journey of Muinji’j and his grandfather and participate in the learning activities provided.
